Giraffes can go for sevral days without water getting moisture from the juicy plants they eat. A giraffe's heat can pump 16 gallons of blood in one minute.

Solitary in habit, it is generally seen in scrubs, dry open jungle or in low hills and ravines. Mainly a scavenger, it depends in the careasses of animals that hav edies of disease or been killed by beasts of prey, It gobbles up the caorser remains of the food of other predators. Few carnivores have jaws and teeth that can compare in strenght or bonecrushing power with those of the hyena.

River Horse
The massive hippo, weighting 3000kg, glides efforlessly in water - a river, a stream or a lake - where it feels at home. It even dives efficiently. Surprisingly, it can also sink to the bottom of a stream and walk along the bed. The hippo can remain submerged for five minutes at a stretch without surfacing to breathe. In Greek hippopotamus means 'river horse'. It is as gile in water as a horse is on land.

African Resident
The horns of a cape buffalo are magnificent and distinctly curved. They spread outwards from a base, curve downwards and then upwards again. Females have narrower horns. The cape buffalo's habitat ranges from dense forests to plains and mountains. Its lives in small herds of three or four individuals in forested regions. In open plains it can be found in large congregations. Wherever it lives, the cape buffalo won't be far from water supply. It needs to drink daily and loves to wallow in the mud.
